ETEC Bioremediation – Injection Circulation Technology

Presented by Jordan Bochner, ETEC Bioremediation

Presentation Overview

This presentation introduces practical in situ bioremediation concepts and how they are applied to petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvent sites. Topics include microbial growth requirements, electron acceptors, nutrients, amendment selection, and groundwater recirculation as a tool for improving amendment contact and distribution. Case studies will show how ETEC has used dissolved oxygen, soluble amendments, bioaugmentation, and recirculation systems to address real-world remediation challenges and support contaminant reductions at complex sites.

Biography

Jordan Bochner, Jordan is the Northeast Regional Manager at ETEC, where he helps environmental consultants evaluate, design, and implement in situ bioremediation strategies for soil and groundwater remediation projects. He has a background in Environmental Geoscience from the University at Buffalo and over six years of experience supporting site investigations, remedial strategy development, pilot testing, proposal preparation, and field implementation. At ETEC, Jordan works closely with consultants, regulators, and project teams to develop practical bioremediation approaches for petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and other challenging contaminants. His work includes evaluating site chemistry, hydrogeology, amendment delivery strategies, groundwater recirculation systems, injection programs, and long-term performance data. He has supported projects involving aerobic and anaerobic bioremediation, enhanced reductive dechlorination, dissolved oxygen recirculation, surfactant-assisted source treatment, and nutrient/electron acceptor delivery. Jordan’s role bridges technical remediation design and field execution, with a focus on helping project teams move from site data to implementable, defensible remedial solutions.
