Presentation Title

1.8 Ga of Arizona Rock Outcrops and Highlights from the 2014 AIPG National Conference

by Jake Dalbec

Presentation Overview

The 2014 AIPG National Conference in Prescott, AZ was attended by AIPG MN Section President-Elect Jake Dalbec in September; discussions were invigorating, but the rock outcrops were even better! Jake had the opportunity to attend three field trips in the central and northern portions of Arizona and with his camera, Jake tried his best to document almost 1.8 Ga of rock outcrop encountered on his field trips. A number of local geologic experts provided wonderful insights into the geologic history of the region. Locations visited or passed through included Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Glen Canyon Dam. This presentation will summarize geologic highlights from the field trips with the backdrop of Jake’s photos.
